Nick is a qualified Marine Surveyor and has a Diploma in Marine Surveying passed with Merit in 2008. Nick took specialist modules in GRP/FRP Vessels, Engine Surveys, Yacht & Small Craft Systems and Sea Trials.
Nick has written and marked exams for the IIMS Diploma in Marine Surveying and occasionally guest-lectures on the Solent University Degree Course on Marine Surveying and Yacht Production.
Nick is seen as an expert on Hurley yachts and has co-written a book "Hurley Marine, a History" on the subject.
Nick has also had articles published in All At Sea newspaper, Sailing Today magazine and Sports Boat And RIB magazine.
Nick is an experienced boat builder and yacht repairer, having worked in the marine industry for nineteen years.
Nick passed the Royal Yachting Association Yachtmaster Offshore exam in 1994 and is a RYA Coastal Skipper Instructor.
In the last couple of years, Nick has also been busy developing a new product - an emergency steering device for yachts between 20' and 60' that enables you to carry on sailing in the event of rudder loss or failure. Please follow this link to find out more about Oceansteer:
